Rabbania Shirjeel

First Pakistani to have an honors degree in Photography, Rabbania Shirjhel is both the Founder and Director of Tasweerghar. She holds a master’s degree in Art and Design from Beaconhouse National University. As a photographer, she has showcased her work at Alhamra Art Center, Gallery 39K and The Drawing Room. Internationally, her work has been showcased at The Gallery of Light in Dubai. Apart from being selected for an exhibition by THAAP, she has also spoken for the photography wing of Punjab Press Council. Newsweek, Elle India and Libas International are some of the magazines she has contributed to as a photographer. She served as a member of art team for British Council and represented Tasweerghar as a guest speaker at Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design. As a participant she has taken part in Islamabad Faceoff Residency and served as part of the faculty at Swat Faceoff Residency.

Rakhshanda Atawar

A practicing artist and educator for over two decades, she graduated with a master’s degree in painting from the University of Punjab in 1984. Her work has been exhibited domestically at Koel, Khaas and Alhamra Art Center as well as international shows. Having served previously as the Head of Fine Art Department at NCBA&E, she is currently the principal of Hunerkada, School of Visual and Performing Arts. She has also served as a curator and co-founder of Gallery 39K for 9 years. Over the years, she has frequently taken part in residencies such as Taj Mahal Artists Camp and Willow Tree Residency.
